Originally built in the mid-17th Century, the interior of this outstanding property has been recently modernised by the owners and is decorated in the traditional country house style.

The guest bedrooms are on the first, second and third floors and all overlook the gardens. Guests also have their own sitting room in which to relax, and are very welcome to use the tennis court.

The house is set in 120 acres of parkland with extensive gardens and woodland walks.

The house is situated near the old village of Kirknewton at the foot of the Pentland Hills in the rolling Midlothian countryside, just north of the Scotland-England border. Edinburgh, only 30 minutes away by car, is one of the world’s most beautiful capital cities, built on a series of spectacular hills and famed for its classical architecture and panoramic views. Also close by are golf courses and whisky distilleries.

Getting there
Edinburgh is 12 miles away to the north east, and about a 30 minutes drive away. Glasgow is 30 miles to the west of the house, approximately 45 minutes by car. Both Edinburgh and Glasgow have frequent and reasonably priced flights to London.
